Self Discovery: 3.5 hours

§ Who am I?

§ Where do self discoveries come from and what challenges do they give us as individuals?

§ What environment do you find rewarding to work in?

§ The way we were and possible predictions for our future

§ Expressing emotion including anger

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community

Building Self Esteem: 3.5 hours

§ The impact of past experience

§ What situations and people make you feel uncomfortable?

§ Transactions, games and scripts

§ How will others see you? Body beautiful

§ Positive directions

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community

Teamwork: 6.5 hours

§ Who is our community? Where do we fit? What challenges do we face?

§ Sharing our talents – the sum of the team is greater than that of the individual

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community

Leadership: 6.5 hours

§ Leader and a facilitator?

§ Managing the team, the individual and the task

§ Agree measurable with the team and develop action plans

§ Top tips for a head start and a good first impression

§ The different ways for monitoring and communicating progress

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community

Solving Problems and Making Decisions: 3.5 hours

§ How creative are you?

§ Creativity blocks and blockbusters

§ Creative approaches to recording information and planning

§ Problem solving cycle

§ Making Decisions

Peer mentoring & Role Modeling: 6.5 hours

§ What is mentoring? What makes a good mentor?

§ Role modeling vs. peer mentoring

§ I hear you – if you want easy listening turn on the radio - building trust

§ Put yourself in their shoes - valuing differences and respecting diversity

§ Supporting development of others

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community

Influencing with Integrity: 6.5 hours

§ Perception + Thinking = Communication

§ Channels of communication

§ Building Rapport

§ Negotiating with Others

§ Working ethically with others

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community

The Skilled Helper: 6.5 hours

§ What is helping all about?

§ Does it help? The good, the cautionary and the bad news

§ The Skilled Helper Model

§ The Helping Relationship – values in action including self responsibility and values

§ Communication Skills in Helping – including practical skill building

§ Action planning – use this knowledge with your community 

Review and celebration: 1.5 hours
